Watch as England batsman Joe Root and Australia fast bowler Peter Siddle give their thoughts on what was a slow third day of the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval.
Root defended England's slow pace of scoring, paying tribute to the way that Australia had bowled well at them on a pitch not conducive to fluent batting.
"We need to play the situation and fair credit to Australia, they bowled pretty well and they made it very hard for us to score fluently," he said.
"The pitch is quite slow and quite hard to time the ball on and you know, you've seen throughout the summer that people like Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen will generally score quite fluently. It's not always that easy."
Although Australia only managed to take four wickets during the day, Siddle was pleased with the way his side had kept the pressure on England throughout.
"We did all we could do with the bat and then then got stuck in with the ball," he said.
"They got off to three 50-run partnerships in a row, but we kept building the pressure, kept to our game plane and kept the runs down, so that's all we can do. We've just got to keep getting out there, keep attacking them as hard as we can and see where we end up."
