Undoubtedly the greatest spin bowler of all time and arguably the greatest bowler of all time and whist a tremendous competitor reportedly a nice bloke too.
The famous Gatting delivery will possibly go down as the greatest ever.
Thanks Shane enjoy a long retirement.

I've seen him play live several times.
Something magical about him, a true cricketing superstar. It was nothing to be ashamed to lose your wicket to him.
Rarely did he benefit from someone giving him their wicket - he was too good to need that kind of luck, he usually outskilled his victims.

Only started watching him in 2005.
Same series that other ' great ' McGrath stood on a ball and ruled himself out.
Seemed to be a couple of lucky bowlers whose time coincided with some poor English and Windies teams.
Please do put him on against England now. 42 isn't that old.

I think all I can echo is the sentiments of the "barmy army" (so many already) years ago... "We only wish you were English" - A sod of a player to play against but everyone's report a great bloke to be around.
There's not enough characters coming through any more - good luck in the future Mr Warne and keep "taking care" of the delectable Mrs. Warne - you do realise she was supposed to marry me!

Goodbye Mr Jiggory-Pokery. I won't see your like again in my lifetime. Thanks for some great memories. I was a batsman and I remember your tail end batting as well as your sublime arm.
