NFL Means Having To Say You're Sorry: A Lot

We live in the Age of Apology. Thanks to instant media, our thoughts sometimes speed from that knee-jerk part of our brain out to public consumption without stopping in the editing room.

This isn't especially tragic for you and me, but for celebrities and famous athletes, it can be embarrassing and, more importantly, can affect image and therefore impede cash flow.

However, the incessant flow of apologies from the NFL these days cannot all be blamed on the speed of media.

Sometimes, it's simply because of behavior that is criminal, unruly, hormonal, in bad taste or just extraordinarily stupid.
